There is a wonderful little chocolate shop and cafe at Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory and everyone visiting the Burren or the Cliffs of Moher should take the time to go into the cafe for their hot chocolate selection and cake choices. The entire staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Wide Range of Chocolates

We always enjoy stopping at this lovely stop – the deliciously intense chocolate smell almost knocks you out when you enter the chocolate shop! The chocolates come in a wide range of interesting flavours and there  is a nice range of gift boxes for family and friends back home, if they last that long!

Expert Chocolatiers

Their team of chocolate expert chocolatiers start by roasting, cracking and winnowing cacao beans and then grinding it for at least 40 hours. The chocolate is then aged for a further 3 weeks before our chocolatiers create their award winning range of bean to bar chocolates. Aillwee Caves Tour

An Aillwee Caves Tour is something we might suggest to the more adventurous customer of ours. Anyone with a hint of interest in caves will simply love the Aillwee Caves which also includes a Birds of Prey Center and Cheesemaking Farm Shop!

Visit Lisdoonvarna

One of my our favourite stops is the small village of Lisdoonvarna, its a spa town and the gateway to the Burren, and a short distance on my way to the Cliffs Of Moher day tour. It has become the central meeting place for many people for well over a hundred years.

Our Favourite Day of the Trip!

Fergus our tour guide exceeded all of our expectations! He was well prepared before he picked us up and customized our tour of the Cliffs of Moher. He knew all of the local spots to take us to avoid lines and provide us with the ultimate tour of Ireland. We left from Galway and stopped at local cheese, chocolate shops, an Abbey and then to a castle and to the top of the Cliffs of Moher as well as stops at LaHinch golf course. He also made calls to local retsurants that did not take reservations and somehow managed to accomodate our group of seven because of his connections. He was knowledgable, fun and made our last day a 10! Thank you Fergus! We would highly recomment him.

Amazing Day Out!

Had a great day trip in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher region with my parents. Fergus was an excellent driver and navigated the narrow roads without us feeling any repercussions. The highlight of the trip was his knowledge of the scenery in order to provide some awesome drone fly time and video shots. I was able to get some spectacular shots that I would never had imagined over areas I could never have envisioned.

Perfect Day

Our group of 6 (3 couples) hired Fergus to take us on a tour of the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher for the day. He was outstanding! Communication leading up to the tour was prompt and courteous. He listened to what we wanted and planned the tour perfectly. Throughout the drive he gave us great nuggets of history about the land, the people, the towns and castles. He clearly knew his way around and even knew some clever side entrances to avoid crowds and tourist scrutiny. We had a great day with Fergus and I would highly recommend him for any private tour around Ireland.
